About Us

The Women's Clinic in the Blekinge region has a county-wide mission and the clinic has approximately 200 employees; doctors, midwives, nurses including contact nurses, physiotherapists, nursing assistants, kitchen staff, secretaries, and social workers.

The operations are divided into two main areas; gynecology and obstetrics.

In gynecology, we have a reception with subacute services as well as an inpatient department in Karlskrona. Surgeries are performed both in Karlskrona and Karlshamn. The emergency department is located in Karlskrona.

We have day care in the gynecology department where chemotherapy treatment is provided and medical legal abortions are handled.

There are midwife clinics in all municipalities as well as a family center in Kungsmarken. Antenatal, delivery, and maternity care are located in Karlskrona. In Karlskrona, there is also a specialist care clinic for pregnant women.

The operations encompass approximately 1,200 deliveries annually. The cesarean section rate is approximately at the national average. The region has a children's clinic with a neonatal department that receives children from week 29+0.

About the Job

As the medical team is under development with several younger colleagues, it is of utmost importance to appoint a medical chief to optimize the operations in the best way. The employment is 100% divided into 60% clinical work as a doctor and 40% as a medical chief/department head. In addition to the division of duties below, you will be a representative in the clinic's management group and directly subordinate to the operations manager. You will have close collaboration with the clinic coordinator, business developer, as well as section responsible doctors and medically responsible doctors (SAL and MLA). To thrive as a medical chief/department head, it is important to be responsive to the needs of the operations while being secure in your role.

Scope

The assignment as department head is a fixed-term appointment with a permanent employment in your base profession as a doctor.

The employment is 100% divided into 60% clinical work as a doctor and 40% as a medical chief/department head.

About You

We are looking for someone who is interested in leading others and wisely managing the competence and development of the medical group. You are a specialist in gynecology and obstetrics.

You are communicative and can convey both positive and less positive information while maintaining good dialogue, relationships, and integrity. You find it easy to create and further develop relationships and enjoy collaborating. An interest in supporting the clinic's continued development is important.

In your role in the management group, you are expected to have a holistic perspective on the clinic while contributing your medical expertise. It is an advantage if you have leadership experience or have completed leadership training. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
